Fees
The Australian Association of Psychologists recommended fee for a psychologist is $315 a session (the APS recommended fee is $315)
At Makes Sense Psychology we believe in providing an affordable and competitive rate.
Fees are as follows:
- $265 per 50-minute session
Rebates
A Mental Health Treatment Plan (MHTP) can entitle you to receive a rebate from Medicare of $96.55 for up to 10 sessions per calendar year. To receive a referral, you will need to make an appointment with your GP/Psychiatrist and request they complete a Mental Health Treatment Plan for you. An initial MHTP will entitle you for up to six sessions. If further sessions are required, you will need to return to your GP to have your plan extended.
Please note we are happy to assist in processing Medicare claims, however, please note that we do not hold responsibility for eligibility or processing of Medicare rebates.
Referral
You do not need to be referred by a medical practitioner, however a referral is needed from your GP or psychiatrist if you wish to claim a Medicare refund.
Private health
Rebates from private health funds vary depending on your level of extras cover-you will need to ask your private health insurer and lodge your claim with them.
Third party
Makes Sense Psychology does not bill third parties directly for your consultation. You are required to pay the fee up front and arrange reimbursement.
